After South Plainfield snapped a 25-25 tie with Timber Creek by winning on Criterion H, greater number of first points scored, for a 26-25 victory in the Group 3 semifinals, Chergers' coach NIck Cottone ushered his team into a locker room.

When he emerged, calm and cool, Cottone revealed what he told his wrestlers.

"I told them you had two good teams and in my eyes it wasn't a loss, " Cottone said.

He told one reporter that the wait for the decision "seemed like forever, but they were thorough, they went over it."
