When the Paulsboro boys’ basketball team scored only 6 points in the second period against visiting Lindenwold on Jan. 25 to fall behind, 27-21, at intermission the home team heard from its head coach.
“You’re from Paulsboro, go out and play like it,” coach Sean Collins told the Red Raiders in the locker room.
They did just that, outscoring the Lions, 26-13 in the third period and winning the game, 64-52.
“These kids come from a town where there’s so much pride and they weren’t playing with pride,” Collins said.
“We’ve been having problems scoring throughout different times in games. It’s the sign of a young team.”
