S.J. Football: Paulsboro upsets Woodbury in Group 1 playoffs

Aaron Tilden ran 22 times for 81 yards and a touchdown and Paulsboro played shut-down defense as the Red Raiders upset defending champion Woodbury 10-0 in the South Jersey Group 1 semifinals on Saturday.

Linebacker Eric McMullen led Paulsboro's defense.

Paulsboro (9-1) advances to face Glassboro in the South Jersey Group 1 finals on the weekend of Dec. 3-4.

Woodbury (8-2) had beaten Paulsboro three times in a row, including by scores of 16-0 in last year's S.J. Group 1 title game and 26-0 in the regular season.

"They were hungrier than us," Woodbury coach Zack Valentine said.
