S.J. Tennis: Haddonfield wins state title

Haddonfield's undefeated tennis team won its third consecutive state title Wednesday.

The Bulldogs (30-0) beat Pascack Hills, 4.5-.5, in the semifinals and Gov. Livingston, 5-0, in the state finals at Mercer County Park.

It was Haddonfield's 17th state title, a record.

Haddon Township made the Group 1 state finals but lost 4-1 to Point Pleasant Beach.

Moorestown (Group 3) and Mainland (Group 4) lost in the state semifinals.

Haddonfield singles players Taylor Ng, Martha Theodoris and Spencer Ng led the way.

Haddonfield, which has won 62 matches in a row, is the No. 1 seed in the Tournament of Championships, which begins Sunday.
