Bill Iezzi: Haddon Heights Field Hockey Loss

Not everybody who loses is a loser.

Haddon Heights' field hockey team, for example, fell to West Deptford, 4-0, Wednesday in a Colonial LIberty game.

West Deptford simply was too fast too the ball, which four players pumped in to the cage. Meanwhile, the Eagles' defense was like an impregnable wall.

However, senior captains Amanda Eckert and Cali Lowe, a center back and a center midfielder, respectively, for Heights, played their hearts out for a team that was hobbled by illness and injury.

Right midfielder Francesca "Frankie" Rosati played with an injury and Melissa Del Collo coached with passion and expertese.

They lost the game, but won praise for their efforts.
