I spoke with Haddonfield field hockey coach Lindsay Kocher after the Bulldogs beat Gateway, 6-0, in a Colonial Conferencem interdivisional game Wednesday.

Kocher said Alex Marshall had her second hat trick in two games and had scored a total of nine goals in the first three games of the season.

Why has the senior center forward gotten out of the gate so quickly this season?

Kocher said the kid bnot only listens to her coaches but also asks questions in an attempt to improve each day.

"She's a very coachable kid, she's putting herself in the right position [to score] and she's athletic, playing basketball and lacrosse," Kocher said about Marshall. "She also has that killer instinct, finding a way to get the ball in the cage."

Marshall didn't start playing field hockey until sophomore year and she scored 10 goals.
