Senior Ed Royds ran for 213 yards and a touchdown as Shawnee beat Pennsauken, 30-20, today in a West Jersey Football League National Division game.

Kyle Wigley ran for a touchdown and Sean Murray caught a 13-yard pass from Vince Corbi for another as Shawnee, the No. 4 team in The Inquirer preseason Top 10, won its opener on the Indians' field.

Royds, a 6-0, 190-pound running back, scored on a two-yard run. He broke loose for gains of 71 and 32 yards in the first half, and also had a 61-yard punt return for a touchdown called back by penalty.

Pennsauken (0-1) rallied in the second half behind junior quarterback Manny Cortez, who  passed 46 yards to Marcus Jones for one score and ran 12 yards for another.

Amar Williams had Pennsauken's other score with a 99-yard kickoff return.
