S.J. Football: Quarterbacks and the spread offense

Fivr senior quarterbacks are coming off big junior seasons in the spread offense and look for lots more.

Winslow Township's Bill Belton passed for 2,200 yards and 15 touchdowns as a junior.

Washington Township's Nick Valori passed for 1,839 yards and 18 TDs.

Gloucester Catholic's Cody Brown passed for 2,130 yards and 21 TDs.

Paul VI Khaalig Burroughs passed for 1,455 yards and 16 TDs.

Pennsville's Kenny Emmons passe for 1,744 yards and 20 TDs.

All five QBs will be back in the spread offense this season. Look for big numbers from all five, as each team also returns a big-play receiver -- and some return three or four big-play men.

The spread is spreading. Kingsway will go to the offense this season, to take advantage of senior QB Rondell Gilmore's expansive skill set.

Check out a full-page spread on the spread offense and the five QBs who have become expert triggermen in the Philadelphia Inquirer sports section, Sunday Sept. 5.
