How are our kids doing?

First, though, what should we look for?

So how are the kids in our region doing compared to other states?

New Jersey:

  1. Overall well-being #8

  2. Health #6

Pennsylvania:

  1. Overall well-being #17

  2. Health #21

Delaware:

  1. Overall well–being #25

  2. Health #25

Casey Foundation uses four numbers of low birth-weight babies, children without health insurance, mortality, and alcohol and drug abuse. And because it makes regular assessments, it is possible to see what is getting better or worse. This year's report has some good news: all four measurements have shown improvement. There is bad news as well: significant racial disparities remain in terms of health and overall well-being.
