This is the fourth of four posts about the Phillies' parade and ensuing celebration at Citizens Bank Park. Click here for the others.
At first, it seems a simple enough question.
What does it mean?
But it really isn't that simple at all. How can you distill into an easy answer what yesterday meant? Can a two-million-person tidal wave erase 25 years of painful memories?
I asked the Inquirer and Daily News' Phillies beat writers, Todd Zolecki and David Murphy, as well as columnists Phil Sheridan and Rich Hofmann for their views.
Personally, I don't really know what the answer is, though I think we'll find out together in the coming weeks. If nothing else, we might all realize that life before Wednesday night and life after it aren't all that different, and that maybe things weren't as bad then as we thought they were.
This day was exhilarating, but also exhausting. I hope you found it rewarding and memorable. I'm just glad I was able to be there.
