Villanova at Syracuse on College GameDay

The two teams will meet on February 27.

ESPN announced its slate of basketball College GameDay venues for the season, and the show will be at the Carrier Dome for Villanova's game against Syracuse on Feb. 27.

Figure on it being another one of those ridiculously huge crowds where 35,000 people show up dressed head to toe in orange. But Villanova is the better team and should win the game.

Here's the full schedule, which includes the show's first ever broadcast from a women's game.

GameDay airs at 11 a.m. and 8 p.m., with the featured game tipping off at 9 p.m., though there is one exception.

January 16: Notre Dame Women at Connecticut Women (Gampel Pavilion / Storrs, CT)
January 23: Duke at Clemson (Littlejohn Coliseum / Clemson, SC)
January 30: Kansas at Kansas State (Bramlage Coliseum / Manhattan, KS - 6 p.m. show, 7 p.m. tipoff)
February 6: Michigan State at Illinois (Assembly Hall / Champaign, IL)
February 13: Lexington, Ky. Tennessee at Kentucky (Rupp Arena / Lexington, KY)
February 20: UCLA at Washington (Bank of America Arena at Hec Edmunson Pavilion / Seattle, WA)
February 27: Villanova at Syracuse (Carrier Dome / Syracuse, NY)
March 6: North Carolina at Duke (Cameron Indoor Stadium / Durham, NC)

I have said for a few years now that there has to be some way to get the show to the Palestra. Invite fans of all six schools to the morning show, then have a schedule like this:

- Drexel vs. a CAA team at the DAC at noon
- Temple vs. St. Joe's at 2:00, which would allow time to let the other Temple and St. Joe's fans in
- La Salle vs. an A-10 team at Tom Gola Arena at 4:00
- Penn vs. an Ivy team (preferably Cornell or Harvard) at the Palestra at 6:00
- The nighttime GameDay show at the Wachovia Center at 8:00 if they can move the truck, or at the Palestra if not
- Villanova vs. a Big East team at the Wachovia Center at 9:00

It would require a ton of cooperation across conferences to get everything scheduled. But if the Big 5 can get the full round-robin scheduled every year, surely the athletic directors involved can bring the right people to the table.

Sure, the Palestra isn't that spacious, but Hec Ed and Cameron aren't either. I'd like to think that if there's a will, there's a way. What about you?
