They always have to have one of those flags, don't they.

I missed the times because I was standing under the scoreboard, but Texas just won the men's college distance medley Championship of America. Stanford was second and Villanova was third.

I'll post times later, but it was close going right into the final stretch, when Texas finally pulled away.

UPDATE: Texas (Erik Stanley, Danzell Fortson, Jacob Hernandez and Leonel Manzano) finished in 9:32.89; Stanford (Garrett Heath, Andrew Dargie, Michael Garcia and Russell Brown) in 9:33.16; and Villanova (Michael Kerrigan, Garrett Kroner, Sean Tully and Robert Curtis) in 9:34.39.

It was the Longhorns' third consecutive men's college DMR title.

Jonathan, when are we going to see some much deserved press on the #16 ranked Drexel Men's lacrosse team? Even the Baltimore Sun is catching on: http://www.baltimoresun.com/sports/college/lacrosse/bal-sp.preston16apr16,0,1954948.column?SPSID=43063&SPID=3811&DB_OEM_ID=8500

...thought you might like to hear from Texas........ex-Philly guy here (Central HS & Temple), now living in Houston, who vividly remembers attending the Relays every year from 1951 til he moved to Texas in '82 and would fly up to Philly for the Relays weekend til his Dad passed in '96.......can remember cutting Friday afternoon classes at Central in order to get down to Franklin Field in time for the then first event of the weekend (440 yd hurdles)......never ran during the Relays, but did compete on the old cinder track as part of the Phila Public HS championships as a 180 yd low hurdler......having lived in Texas for 25+ years, am now a conformed UT fan as one of my sons is a UT grad (hook 'em Horns).....will be glued to the telly this afternoon in an attempt to relive "those glorious days of yore".....there's nothing like the Penn Relays here in Texas and I miss them....... ginmarsni@hotmail.com
