SEC football in Philadelphia

The Comcast Network will carry games from the SEC's new syndicated channel it has created with ESPN.

Because this blog does deal with college sports on a fairly regular basis...

You may have heard that the Southeastern Conference recently launched its own syndicated TV network in conjunction with the 15-year contract it signed with ESPN last summer.

The TV network announcement included a lengthy list of distribution markets, including some in the Northeast. But Philadelphia was not included.

I sent an email to ESPN's PR folks and they got back to me today with word that The Comcast Network will be the affiliate in our region.

(I'm sure at some point I'll slip up and call it CN8 on here, but I caught myself this time.)

So when Penn State runs the table this coming season, all you'll have to do to find out why the Nittany Lions aren't in the national championship game is move over a few channels.

Just kidding. Or maybe not...
