Local winners in boys' 4x400-meter relays

There are 12 races for the Philadelphia-area boys' 4x400-meter relay teams. I'll be posting the names of the winning teams and runenrs here. Check back to this post over the next hour or so.

Inter-Ac: Malvern Prep, 3:24.64 (Brian Leonard, Tom McGarrigle, Doug Moppert and Brian Fulton)

Central: Strath Haven, 3:23.76 (Nick DeCindis, Ian O'Hara, Vince Marriott and Antwain Johnson)

Suburban A: Penn Wood, 3:25.08 (Dominique Brown, Kyle Burton, Tamari Harris and Willie Williams)

Suburban C: Great Valley, 3:24.26 (Mike Borzillo, Alec Koffer, Will Turney and Steve Rothermel)

Suburban National: Abington, 3:21.01 (Tony Parker, Charles Peoples, Kyle Moran and Chris Morralis)

Suburban American: Quakertown, 3:24.46 (Tyler Burke, Luke Rotenberger, Robert Dearden and Steve Roberts, who overtook at least four runners in the anchor leg)

Northern Delaware: Glasgow, 3:23.17 (Malachi Freeman, Ryan Carter, Matt Freeman and Alan Harding)

South Jersey Small: Sterling 3:27.85 (Chris Ward, Greg Taylor, Robert Friedman and Matt Long, who had one heck of a haircut)

South Jersey Large: Winslow, 3:17.78 (Darin Washington, Barry Cephas, Gerald Stephens-Holland and Davis McNeil)

Philadelphia Catholic League: Father Judge, 3:21.50 (Mike Harrington, Jerome Lowery, Patrick Ayling and Jermaine Lowery)

Philadelphia Public League, first section: Engineering and Science, 3:18.66 (Dwayne Hyman, Elliot Rhodes, Ramaan Ansley and Austin Perron)

Schools in this race were (in order of finish): Engineering and Science, Simon Gratz, Dobbins Area VoTech, Frankford, Northeast, Martin Luther King, Swenson Arts & Tech, Central, Lincoln and Imhotep Charter.

Philadelphia Public League, second section: Germantown, 3:36.12 (Jeff Best, Niguon Johnson, Verdon Youg and Jeff Collier)

Schools in this race were (in order of finish): Germantown, University City, George Washington, Overbrook, Franklin Towne, William Penn, Masterman, Paul Robeson, New Media, Mastbaum VoTech and Parkway.

Overbrook was in first for most of the anchor leg. But Tajay Gibson just didn't have enough energy to hold off Collier, and he fell down just steps from the finish.

Gibson tried to stick his feet out over the line to finish third, but couldn't quite get there in time.

At least he got a good hug from Bill Cosby and a round of applause from the fans afterwards.

Of note, Cosby drew a false start for shooting the gun off too soon after asking whether the back line was ready.
