Live blog: La Salle at Baylor

The Explorers get a national TV showcase as part of ESPN's 24-hour college basketball marathon.

Time: 2:00 p.m. EST
Venue: Ferrell Center, Waco, Texas
TV/Radio: ESPN (Ron Franklin and Fran Fraschilla)/WHAT 1340-AM

For the third year in a row, a Big 5 team is featured in a daytime slot ESPN's 24-hour college basketball marathon. Two years ago, in the inaugural marathon, Penn and Drexel tipped off at 10 a.m. Last year, Temple played Georgetown in a 4 p.m. start.

This year, La Salle gets the 2 p.m. slot, and faces a Baylor team that is expected to be near the top of the Big 12 this season. So we will get to see how Aaric Murray and Ruben Guillandeaux fare on the big stage.

To get us warmed up, here's this week's edition of Crunchy Numbers. As was the case last season, the numbers in parentheses represent the rankings from the previous edition.

I should note that these rankings are current as of 7:15 a.m. this morning. Because there are games all day today, there may be some fluctuation over the course of the day in continuously updated rankings such as Basketball State.

It's also worth noting that beacuse so few games have been played, the RPI ratings are kind of funky. There are a lot of teams tied at various ranks, but I'm going with it anyway. You can see the full ranking of teams here.
