Game 4: Rhode Island vs. Villanova

Greetings from the Palestra, which is as roasting hot as ever for tonight's championship game of the 2008 Philly Classic.

Rhode Island put a serious scare into Duke at Cameron Indoor Stadium at the beginning of the season, beat Virginia Commonwealth at home and took down Penn State here on 33rd Street last night.

The Wildcats, meanwhile, are 5-0 and are playing their second of three games at the Palestra in a five-day span that will end Tuesday night against Penn.

(That will also be the next live-blogging game, by the way.)

I also suspect a lot of the dark blue and white in the house will have Wildcats strong safety Darrel Young in their thoughts after he reportedly suffered a sprained neck in 'Nova's 55-28 blowout win over Colgate in the first round of the I-AA football playoffs this afternoon.

It's a reminder of how violent football can be, and also how much skill the great players have to make it all seem so easy every weekend.

As for this game, I expect a lot of offense and a high tempo tonight. Though the game is on CN8, I'm sure some of you out there might not be near a TV that gets the channel. And for those of you who are watching, I hope you'll join in the commentary with your own thoughts on what you're seeing.

Let's get this thing going.
