I want to run through this quckly so we can get on to other stuff. In addition to the results below, Ursinus beat Kean in the Division III ECAC Southeast Bowl last week, and Delaware Valley will host Albright in the second round of the Division III playoffs on Saturday at 12:00 p.m.

17. Penn State (21)
Last week: Road win vs. No. 45/55 Michigan State, 42-14
Season over

43. Villanova (43)
Last week: Home win vs. No. 116/113 Delaware, 30-12
This week: 11/28 vs. No. 153 Holy Cross, 12:00 p.m. (NCAA Division I-AA playoffs First Round)
Sagarin predicts: Villanova by 26 (76.99 and 3.12 to 51.92)

49. Rutgers (34)
Last week: Road loss vs. No. 95/79 Syracuse, 31-13
This week: 11/27 at No. 77 Louisville, 11:00 a.m. (ESPN2)3
Sagarin predicts: Rutgers by 4 (75.35 to 67.92 and 3.12)

58. Temple (61)
Last week: Home win vs. No. 108/112 Kent State, 47-13
This week: 11/27 at No. 83 Ohio, 11:00 a.m. (ESPNU)
Sagarin predicts: Temple by 3 (73.03 to 67.26 and 3.12)

113. Delaware (116)
Last week: Road loss at No. 43/43 Villanova, 30-12
Season over

123. Penn (122)
Last week: Home win vs. No. 220/226 Cornell, 34-0
Season over

142. Lafayette (131)
Last week: Road loss vs. No. 198/187 Lehigh, 27-21 (OT)
Season over

187. Lehigh (198)
Last week: Home win vs. No. 131/142 Lafayette, 27-21 (OT)
Season over

The most surprising result of the week on the local scene.

209. Delaware State (205)
Last week: Home win vs. No. 238/239 Howard, 30-20
Season over

216. Princeton (219)
Last week: Road win vs. No. 203/217 Dartmouth, 23-11
Season over

I have to say that I'm surprised the Tigers fired coach Roger Hughes. I figured he would get some grace because of what Jordan Culbreath has ben going through, but I guess not.

225. Bucknell (230)
Last week: Home win vs. No. 135/153 Holy Cross, 23-17
Season over

I take that back about Lehigh beating Lafayette. This is an even bigger surprise, even if it was in Lewisburg.

Bucknell beating Holy Cross was in Lewisburg. I didn't expect the Bison to win the game even though it was at home, is what I was trying to say.

About Jonathan Tannenwald
I fell in love with the Big 5 at first sight upon moving to Philadelphia in 2002. At various points in my journalistic career, I've covered all six of the region's Division I teams. During that time, I've eaten many soft pretzels from the Palestra's concession stands, which is how this blog got its name.

I write primarily about the University of Pennsylvania and the Ivy League, but I also cover the other basketball and football teams across the city from time to time. In the spring, you'll find coverage of the Penn Relays here.

In addition to all of that, I write Philly.com's soccer blog, The Goalkeeper.
