The Big 5 Hall of Fame induction ceremony is one of my favorite events on the local college basketball calendar each year. Not only do we get to reminisce about the honorees, but there are always many past Hall of Famers on hand from each school.

Today was no different. There were a few hundred people at the Palestra this afternoon as the Hall of Fame welcomed five new members:

- Rashid Bey, Saint Joseph’s 1994-98
- Rick Brunson, Temple 1991-95
- Jewel Clark, Penn 2000-04
- Kerry Kittles, Villanova 1992-96
- Stacey Smalls, 1999-2003

My Philly.com colleague Sarah Kazadi and I put together a really nice video that you can watch below. It includes interviews with each honoree and recollections from Mike Kern and Dick Jerardi of the Daily News.

I also recorded the induction ceremony in audio form, and you can listen to that below. There are remarks from each honoree, with introductions from Fox 29’s Don Tollefson and Temple athletic director Bill Bradshaw.

I hope you’ll share your memories of the players honored today in the comments. All five left their mark on their respective programs, and on the Big 5 as a whole.
