ESPN released the pairings for next season's ACC-Big Ten Challenge, and the series will feature an all-Pennsylvania showdown between Penn State and Pittsburgh.

Pat Chambers' Nittany Lions will visit the Panthers in what should be one of Pitt's first marquee games as a member of the Atlantic Coast Conference. It will be the 145th all-time meeting between the schools, but the first since 2005.

The biggest national games in the series are Indiana at Syracuse, Michigan at Duke and North Carolina at Michigan State.

This one's short and... well, I can't say sweet, because it's the wrong round. But at least it's short.

All times are Eastern:

Saturday, April 6

To paraphrase the old chant:

Is that a college basketball venue?
Yes, that's a college basketball venue.

Or so the NCAA would like us to believe.

La Salle's storybook run through the NCAA tournament came to a crashing halt early Friday morning. The Explorers were decisively beaten in the Sweet 16 by Wichita State, 72-58.

Wichita State was just too good. Gregg Marshall had his team ready to shut down La Salle at the perimeter, and on offense the Shockers pounded the ball inside relentlessly. Malcolm Armstead led all scorers with 18 points. Carl Hall added 16 points, all from two-point range, and added eight rebounds.

As a team, Wichita State scored 40 of its 72 points in the paint, and just 15 from three-point range.

You probably know about Mississippi's Marshall Henderson by now.

And you probably heard about what he did after the Rebels lost to La Salle on Sunday.

It took a while, but video of the incident has finally come to light.

A wild night of NCAA tournament action at the Wells Fargo Center saw Florida Gulf Coast become the first ever 15-seed to reach the Sweet 16, followed by a classically dominant Duke victory. I talked about both games and La Salle's epic "Southwest Philly Floater" with Dick Jerardi of the Daily News.

Looks like we'll be staying up very late to watch La Salle-Wichita State on Thursday: It's a 10:17 p.m. tipoff - at the earliest - on TBS.

All times are Eastern:

Thursday, March 28

UPDATE: Tyrone Garland hit the game-winning shot with 2.5 seconds left to lead La Salle past Mississippi, 76-74, in Kansas City. The Explorers are headed to the Sweet 16 in Los Angeles. They'll play Wichita State in the West Region semifinal on Thursday.

The "Southwest Philly Floater," as Garland called it in a television interview after the game, will go down as one of the great shots in Philadelphia college basketball history.

What a remarkable run it has been for La Salle. John Giannini and his players deserve every minute of the celebrations they'll have when they get back to Philly.

Add another chapter to Philadelphia's long history with the NCAA tournament. 15-seed Florida Gulf Coast's stunning win over 2-seed Georgetown was one of the great upsets of all time.

I talked about the game, as well as San Diego State's win over Oklahoma. We also looked ahead to Duke-Creighton on Sunday here.

If only we had looked back while doing so...
