The Red Storm come to Philadelphia as one of the hottest teams in the nation. The Wildcats have a sizeable segment of their fan base on the verge of panic, whether or not it's warranted.

Amid all that, it's the final home game for seniors Corey Fisher, Corey Stokes and Antonio Pena. You would think they would like to go out with a win.

Last weekend, we saw one of the great performances by any student section in the country this season at the St. Joe's-Temple game. The Cherry Crusade's "funeral" for the Hawk rightly got national attention for its creativity, humor and depth.

If you didn't see the details of it yet, watch the video below. There's a rundown of all the rollouts and other signs here. I would have liked to have been at the game, but I had to do my actual job that day.

We all know about the great fan traditions in Philadelphia. But yesterday, two YouTube videos from elsewhere on the college basketball landscape got national attention.

If Temple had everyone healthy, I would honestly give the Owls a shot to win at Duke tonight. I think their defense is that good.

But with Micheal Eric out and Scootie Randall also likely to not play, I can't see Fran Dunphy's squad having enough depth to pull off the upset at Cameron Indoor Stadium.

So Temple fans will have to console themselves with having their team atop the Schuylkill 16 for a second straight week. That means something, right?

Time for our weekly look at statistical highs and lows across the City Six.

Jim Boeheim getting warmed up for his postgame press conference. (Ron Cortes/Staff Photographer)

Syracuse coach Jim Boeheim's postgame press conference last night was going along quite nicely for the first five minutes or so. There were questions about the importance of the Orange's win over Villanova, how the 2-3 zone defense did, and how important Dion Waiters was down the stretch.

Boeheim has never been the most cordial interviewee, but he nonetheless had some interesting things to say about those subjects.

Then came a question which produced a rather less civil response. In fact, it was probably better suited for the farms up in central New York than the more urbane nature of our fair city.

Video: They came just short, but a remarkable run by the Explorers wasn't enough to beat the George Washington Colonials. The Inquirer's Kevin Tatum and philly.com's Dave Isaac break down the close game.

I had a feeling this might happen, but I'm still surprised that it happened this way.

Because one voter ranked Villanova 16th on his ballot, the Wildcats fell out of the top spot in this week's ranking. Temple, which got only two first-place votes, is the new No. 1.

Here's how it all played out:

First of all, a disclaimer: I wrote the bulk of this post during last night's games. I have updated the records and the rankings in the two tables to reflect those results.

The team and individual performance statistics, however, remain just based on results through Tuesday.

Also, a reminder that the Schyulkill 16 teamsheet table is arranged in the order of the most recent Schuylkill 16 poll.

Drexel
http://kenpom.com/team.php?team=Drexel
- The Dragons have the 23rd-ranked defensive efficiency in the nation, but the 230th-ranked offensive efficiency.
- Despite playing in a limited role (defined as 12 to 16 percent of team possessions used), Frantz Massenat has the 96th-best individual free throw rate in the nation.
La Salle
http://kenpom.com/team.php?team=La%20Salle
- The Explorers rank 76th nationally in three-point shooting percentage, but 268th in ratio of free throw attempts to field goal attempts.
- Aaric Murray ranks 66th nationally in individual block percenrage.
Penn
http://kenpom.com/team.php?team=Pennsylvania
- The Quakers' defense ranks 80th in offensive rebounding percenage given up, but their offense ranks 336th in offensive rebounding percentage obtained.
- Jack Eggleston ranks 12th nationally in percentage of possible minutes played.
Saint Joseph's
http://kenpom.com/team.php?team=Saint%20Joseph's
- The Hawks' defense ranks 11th in block percentage, but 310th in turnover percentage forced.
- C.J. Aiken is now up to No. 3 in the nation in individual block percentage.
Temple
http://kenpom.com/team.php?team=Temple
- The Owls are very good in a lot of statistical categories, and not very bad in any. So I will highlight two good ones. The offense ranks 27th-best in turnover percentage committed, and the defense ranks 24th-best in effective field goal percentage given up.
- Khalif Wyatt is No. 27 in the nation in individual steal percentage.
Villanova
http://kenpom.com/team.php?team=Villanova
- The Wildcats have the 11th-best three-point defense in the country, despite the fact that Jeremy Hazell has gone off yet again as I write this. But the Wildcats' defense also is ranked a lowly 259th in turnover percentage forced, which may account for why Hazell has had the ball so much.

Also, a reminder that the Schyulkill 16 teamsheet table is arranged in the order of the most recent Schuylkill 16 poll.
