What did we do wrong? How did we not land a job that paid $700K or whatever K, but extra serious special K, to allow us so much free time that we were so bored than we could spend it all spying on gorgeous co-workers?

Except, maybe we would have spent that free time to write a novel, or take up painting, or do some work, something legal perhaps, in all that free time.

The whole Larry Mendte mess should be labeled Exhibit A in the argument that television newsreaders -- as opposed to the hard-working broadcast reporters, camerafolk, producers and technicians -- are overpaid to do little. The object of Mendte's obsession, Alycia Lane, was known to BlackBerry newspaper reporters during commercials breaks while she was on the air.

I think the point is about the FREE TIME not the salary. Are you angry at the writer about something Jeffrey ??

They are/were both paid large salaries because they brought viewers and revenue to the newscast. They wouldn't earn those salaries in today's cost-cutting market if they hadn't brought CBS3 up to a level to compete with ABC's Action News. But,both have now lost any credibility even as newsreaders. Will anyone hire a woman who assaults a police officer or a man who breaks federal laws? Both have lost their careers..at least in Philadelphia. You'd think Vince Dimentri and Lauri Delgado would have paid more attention to this story.

HI, Dan Gross, If you are reading this...you are on the same plane as Larry Mendte by taking this information and writing some crappy gossip column...stop giving the litte creep a pass and call out the daily news on this garbage.

How does any network affiliate TV station even know if/when I'm watching? This CBS debacle is news because Philadelphia is a large media market populated by narrow minded viewers only interested in having headlines, as opposed to news, read to them. Larry and Alycia fit the description. One of them always had perfect makeup and the other had nice legs. In true Philadelphia tradition (give me the fluff and none of the facts) you decide.
