One of Philadelphia's true treasures, photographer Zoe Strauss, holds her annual photo exhibit from 1 to 4 p.m. this Sunday, May 4, under the I-95 underpass in South Philadelphia, between Front and Mifflin.

It's an amazing experience, some 230 images by this terrific photo-realist, a true documentarian of the streets, affixed to pilasters. Some of the images are rough, but all of them are true.

And the photos are all $5! Imagine owning a great work of art by a self-taught artist who, five years after picking up the camera, was in the vaunted Whitney Biennial.

Zoe is one of my favorite people I've ever profiled. She went from house cleaner and babysitter to award-winning artist in a matter of years. She's One of the most exubertant and caring people in the city. All that and she's met Leonard Nimoy and been made over by Isaac Mizrahi on his television show.

Check out her website, and enjoy the show.
