Urban Issues Forum Unlikely
CNN yesterday announced that they will host a presidential candidates forum on faith issues Sunday night. Both Sen. Hillary Clinton and Sen. Barack Obama will appear individually on stage to talk about topics like poverty, AIDS, climate change and human rights, according to a press release.

So what ever happened to the urban issues forum proposed by Mayor Nutter? Nutter pitched the event as a chance to debate rarely discussed city issues like housing, transportation and crime.

Nutter told us today that it's most likely not going to happen.

"It's looking like it's logistically very difficult," he said. "They are tremendously busy folks."

Nutter did not blame either candidate for the the scheduling difficulty. And he said that just proposing the forum has drawn attention to the lack of urban debate in the race.

"The candidates themselves to some extent have started talking about these issues," he said. "And we're trying to get the folks who are running the debate next week to raise some of the issues."

ABC News is hosting a debate in Philadelphia on April 16. Tune in to see if urban issues get any attention...

Obama will do great in the debate. It's about time we stop hearing the pointless noise that surrounds the candidates and hear them speak about the important things that actually concern us.

You point it out rather well dots I've never connected: Urban affairs are not a driving national political force. Maybe a better leader than Nutter could of pulled off a "Urban Debate/"Conversation": The Debate? We all know who thinks best on their feet. But will they take off the gloves?

Looking forward to it. Hillary can talk about all the things she's worked on for years and accomplished and knows intimately and Barack can talk about all the things he's illegitimately tried to take credit for while being too busy leading his "life is one long campaign" to actually work hard for his constituents.

Yea, I would like to hear another story from Hillary on her sniper stories and how she is so concern about the war now. Lies Lies Go Hillay.. lie all you want with your make up stories
