Sorry, Phillies fans, this week Obama proved he's more popular with America than Philly's baseball team.

His infomercial before the final game of the World Series attracted more viewers than the game itself.

Much to the surprise of television executives:

“I was shocked by the number Obama was able to draw,” said Leslie Moonves, the chairman of CBS. “It’s just a stunning number.”

As the New York Times reported, "Obama’s 30-minute commercial, which played on seven networks, broadcast and cable, was seen by 33.55 million viewers, according to figures released by Nielsen Media Research. On the three broadcast networks that carried the special, the audience totaled more than 25 million, easily surpassing the number for the last World Series game on Fox, which averaged 19.8 million viewers."

Um, world series was on one network...Obama had several...math don't add up there. Additionally, as much as I love the Phillies, I kind of hope a presidential election outdraws a baseball game.

In my Humble Opinion, here is a Fundamental Difference between Obama’s voters and McCain supporters: Obama’s voters pay greater attention to RHETORIC and its PRESENTATION. They believe in REDISTRIBUTION of WEALTH and Entitlement. They are NOT CONCERN with registration FRAUD or Obama’s FRIENDS that PREACHed HATE toward America, Whites and Jews. They think it is O.K. to HANG a WHITE WOMAN as a Halloween decoration, just because they disagree with her politically. They believe in larger government. ----------------------------------------------------- McCain supporters judge a man based on CHARACTER, INTEGRITY, JUDGMENT and Ability to Walk ACROSS the ISLE. They believe that the job Does Not Lend itself on the Job Training. They believe in Capitalism and the fact that CAPITALISM is a Necessary Condition for POLITICAL FREEDOM. They believe in FREE and UNBIASED PRESS. And more importantly, THEY KNOW that YOU CANNOT HELP MEN PERMANENTLY, BY DOING FOR THEM WHAT THEY COULD AND SHOULD, DO FOR THEMSELVES. “Faced with crisis, the man of character falls back upon himself.”

Adults who work and remember Carter, look at Obama as a curiosity and wonder "Why would anyone vote for him?". He had many viewers because watching him is like watching a car crash.

I Know What's most Important to me is my future President's ABILITY to walk across the ISLE. That's why I'm voting CRUSOE/FRIDAY 08!!!

Phillies fans are too hip to buy NY Times nonsense "more people watched Obama than our Phillies win the World Series". The rating is based on the percentage watching a program among homes with televisions and most were on during prime time TV. How many viewers were actually watching? How many viewers weren't watching from home sets and were in sports bars across the nation and other places where uncounted crowds of people gathered watching the World Series Game? I can imagine inviting 20 friends over to watch (more viewing capacity) the series but I would unlikely invite friends over for an infomercial. Like the election polls and how the questions are stacked, the numbers are skewed by the media. Count the viewers, not the TV sets as you can imagine many friends joined together watching a World Series Game that were not watching from home sets increase the number of viewers over the 35 million homes with TV sets. I agree the Obama infomercial was one single event well advsertised to draw many but I do not agree more viewers would rather watch him repeat the same old message than watch American Baseball unfold the World Series champs.

he election is a more important event than the event of one person, or either candidate. The election may be a more important event than the world series game. But if the nerds media nerds are trying to stuff down our throats, most people would rather view Obama's infomercial than watch the World Series Game, then they need to get a life.

This was a big event in the Tri state region and FL, nowhere else. People in other states and even Western PA were not into this series because overall the Phillies are not a popular national team and TB is practically unknown. Only diehard baseball fans across the country watched no one else so I can believe that Obama was a bigger draw.

Congratualtions on a great victory! I hope it brings joy to Philadelphia, I am sure you deserve it. On another and almost as significant note - the election, I would like to share a couple of comments that I hope will help to inform your decision on who to support. 1) You are about to elect the Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces of the United states - Do you really want a rookie w/NO EXPERIENCE in the big chair. 2) Obama is a socialist. If not in name, certainly in word and plan. Ask the Russians, the Chinese, and the Cubans about how things have gone. Not too good. Remember, these socialist ideals only serve to make everybody equally miserable! Please vote for Sen. McCain!
