The Daily Spin will be offering live reaction to the face-to-face showdown between McCain and Obama. We hope to hear McCain tell us exactly how it was he helped resolve the bailout negotiations, and why it is suddenly ok to debate. And perhaps Obama will tell us what he'd do if we pull out of Iraq and Shias start slaughtering Sunnis.

Should be an interesting evening. And we hope to provide some thoughtful analysis. The debate, and reaction, starts at 9 p.m.

NoBama traits #1: 1. waffle on every issue; while an Illinois State Senator he voted “present” 130 times to avoid voting yea or nay. 2. No experience (144 working days in US Senate); no leadership; small time community activist/agitator. 3. limited drilling, inflate your tires, and no nuclear power so NoBama achieves the dems Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid goal of $8 per gallon of gas; Read this article that shows that the Dems really want $8 per gallon gasoline: http://article.nationalreview.com/?q=MDRjYzY3OTg3MzU4ODgxNTYwODMxMTdlY2MwZGRhMTk= 4. increasing taxes on every American which will plunge this stalled economy further into a recession; he says he will increase taxes on people who make more than $250K per year…but don’t believe that! NoBamas spending plans are not achievable with that limitation; he will have to increase taxes on EVERYONE. 5. socialist giveaway: increasing taxes on every American so he can take $50 billion, give it to the corrupt United Nations to “redistribute” the wealth to his African "breathren" and the rest of the world to fight world poverty and achieve what he calls “economic justice”…nothing more than a socialist giveaway.

About Inquirer political writers

The Inauguration: Jan. 20 blog brings you coverage of President-elect Barack Obama's transition into office.

It's written by political journalists from the Philadelphia Inquirer. Send us your comments -- and news tips -- at this address.

Thomas FitzgeraldThomas Fitzgerald joined The Philadelphia Inquirer in 2000, and has covered Harrisburg as well as city, state and national politics for the newspaper. He was a “boy on the bus” in the 2004 presidential campaign and during primary contests in 2000 and 1996.

Nathan Gorenstein has covered politics and government in the city, state and nation for the Inquirer. He's worked in the city hall bureau, had a stint on the business desk, and once covered the suburbs. After serving as assistant regional editor, he was named editor of the "Politics" web site.
