Democrats turn out in Springfield Township

Michael Hinkelman reports:

10:12 a.m.

Ward 2, Springfield Township, Montgomery County, just outside of Chestnut Hill.  40 votes were cast during the first hour of voting.  At the last election, a total of 100 ballots were cast in the ward. 

1000 new Democrats registered in the township for the primary, doubling the total number of registered Democrats.

According to poll watchers, turnout is up, they are seeing many new faces, and most of the voting is in the Democratic primary.
