Actually, he bought air time to broadcast a commercial congratulating Obama. Here's the text of McCain's advertisement:

"Senator Obama, this is truly a good day for America.

Too often the achievements of our opponents go unnoticed. So I wanted to stop and say, congratulations.

How perfect that your nomination would come on this historic day. Tomorrow, we'll be back at it.
But tonight Senator, job well done.

I'm John McCain and I approved this message."

Here's the video

And here is the advance text of Obama's speech.

GO MCCAIN, OSAMA is just a stuffed suit with no substance, not to mention and elitist racist moron, not to mention just another corrupt politician.... If you Dems had a chance to read about his proposals, you might actually come to the realization that as usual this moron is just blowing smoke up your butts!!!!! But I would not expect a Dem to actually research anything. GO MCCAIN '08!!!! The next POTUS....

Obama's preaching was all fire and brimstone...no substance. He outlined nothing, just promised to do everything for everybody. It was his continued baseless attacks of the past. Why? Because when you have no plan for the future you have to attack the past. McCain will win by double digits. Count on it.

McCain is a class act all the way; all the way to the white house. McCain really showed that HE is the different type of candidate. He could have placed a "smear" ad; but he decided to take the high road.

McSame has been smearing since he hired Rove & Co in July, nobody is fooled by this silly mockery of being classy. John McS used to have a heart and soul but he sold it to the devil after the Carolina primary of 2000 when he lost to Bush/Rove. He just figured: if you can't beat 'em, join 'em. And now he's on a path straight to Hell!
