11:10 a.m.

Now she sings the praises of John McCain as a reformer and a hero. And she blasts Obama for having voted in 2007 to cut off funding for the troops in Iraq.

"We need a leader with experience, good judgment, courage and truthfulness...and that man is John McCain."

She promises to balance the federal budget by the end of the McCain-Palin first term, and portrays the ticket as a pair of proven reformers. Then she touts her record as mayor of Wasilla and governor of Alaska and talks about the need to achieve energy independence.

"We believe America is not the problem. America is the solution...We believe, too, that it is in God we trust."

And after half an hour, she's finished. Now, back to Stevie Wonder..

10:48 a.m.

And she arrives, accompanied by a recording of Stevie Wonder singing "Isn't She Lovely."

Palin begins with a reference to the Phillies: "Philly fans, you do knjow all about turning an underdog into a victory. Please help us do that on Election Day."

She quickly gets to the tax theme, saying that Obama is a politician who wants to redistribute your money through higher taxes.

"John McCain will cut taxes for every American, and Sen. Obama wants to raise them."

She talks a lot about the famous Joe the Plumber, who met Obama earlier this week in Ohio and told him he thought his tax plan sounded "socialist."

Then onto ACORN and the allegations of voter-registration fraud: "It is not mean-spiritied, it is not negative campaigning when we talk about someone's record and his associations."

10:33 a.m

Sarah Palin's appearance in Lancaster is part of Pennsylvania blitz of sorts by the McCain campaign today. Todd Palin is making three stops in the central part of the state, concluding with a visit to the tailgaters in State College before the Penn State-Michigan football game. Cindy McCain is scheduled to make a late-afternoon speech in Wilkes-Barre. All this comes as polls continue toi show Barack Obama up by double digits in Pennsylvania.

The trraveling press corps has arrived. So it should be showtime soon.

10;18 a.m.

It's morning in Lancaster, and the Republican faithful are filling up most of the seats at Clipper Magazine Stadium, the home of the Lancaster Barnstormers baseball team, awaiting the arrival of Sarah Palin. This is Palin's second visit to Lancaster in the campaign, her first solo. She and John McCain spoke at Franklin and Marshall College back in September.

The warmup speakers are talking now and rarely has the term "warmup" been more appropriate. It is cold, cloudy, and blustery. Among the signs in the crowd: "It's not the economy, it's life." and "It's the Democrats' economy, stupid."

Palin is nothing but lier and a fraud. She is married to a domestic terrorist who wanted Alaska to succeed from the United States. She believes the earth was created 4000 years ago and had her pastor of many years ask God to protect her against witches. She believes our failed war in Iraq is "Gods Will" and would like to force her extreme religous and moral views on the American people. Her days are numbered as the country is sick of the lies and smear tactics coming out of the McCain camp. The Republicans are getting their butts kicked by Obama. Because they can't come up with an original thought of their own on how to fix this mess, they resort to trying to steal this election through fear and charges of voter regitration fraud like they do every 4 years.

The worm is slowly turning. More and more voters ( I mean people who will ACTUALLY vote ) are waking up and realizing that Obongo is nothing more than a smooth-talking street agitator who will move this country so far to the left that Hugo Chavez will probably be our Secretary of State.

I am an independent voter. I am an educated professional woman. At first I didnt know which way to go since my favorite person was Hillary. Then Palin was chosen I looked at her viewpoints for a minute or two and could not find enough points to connect us closer. I made up my mind right after the 1st debate and I am steadfast for Obama. McCain's campaign is not about the issues is about hate and division and I am sick of it. Please stop. Stop. You are turning people off. Just stop!

From Alaska
Hey folks, Sarah Palin IS another corrupt Alaskan politician for the oil companies. No other Alaskan Governor has ever been under investigation for abuse of power before and she was found guilty. Alaska state Rep. Mike Doogan said on Palin, "even as she bends or breaks the rules herself, she acts as if she invented ethics in Alaska. It's insulting to those of us who have always done the right thing," he said.

I attended the Republican rally in Lancaster today. As always, our national anthem makes my eyes tears a little. You see, I am an American. I don't dislike Senator Obama, I just prefer the platform of John McCain. When I begin to read radical comments like many above about either candidate, I just ignore them and move along. Governor Palin is lovely. She is smart, articulate, and like many of us, a woman. Me thinks there is a lot of jealousy out there. Meow.

Maybe Sarah Palin can bring Ohio's first Dude, Joe the Unlicensed Plumber with her to all her controlled rallies. Me thinks their hairstyles are just what the party base ordered. Me also thinks Mrs. all the time 24/7/1 is an over achiever like Sarah becasue me thinks Obama isn't spreading around the wealth, but the over achievers Sarah and allthetime are spreading around false facts. Me thinks True Professionals tell the truth "Allthetime24/7/1" -- Not like Joe the Plumber and Sarah the Talker. Me also thinks lonewolf should at least stop reading the Sludge reports, and he would know to replace the "then Barry Hussein, with the correct THAN Barry... I forgot Republicans don't need no stinkin education, they are merely parrotts for Rush, Glenn, Sean and Sarah. Me thinks Buzzerd Bob is an apporpriate name given his post. Me also thinks there is no better place than Lancaster area for Sarah to be - many people from that County made themselves known during the Kennedy Nixon Campaign, but only after midnight.

Everyone knows that higher overhead (Taxes) inhibits U.S. ability to compete with imports, and hinders exports! It's just that simple, Fewer Jobs, Less revenue, worse economy. Bush had to overcome 911, Tech bubble Burst, The necessity and U,.N. Mandate to take Hussein Out and the mess that is AND an Energy crisis caused by Congress' failure to address future demand!! While, by rights our economy should have collapsed under that pressure, We remain afloat, as the oil comes down. With Obama we will have to contend with a depression and surely will collapse under the weight of class-warfare politics and Tax BURDENS Already higher than Any Other Civilization in the Known Universe. No! to Pelosi/Reid/Obama/Franks/Dodd, and the rest of the DNC Clowns!

Keep spreading the lies and the fear Repugs. you can cling to them long after the votes are counted and a black man is in the White House. All your negative, racist BS has done nothing but dig a deeper hole for John ny Sidney McCain Hensley. I love how you spread the hate about an honest decent man like Obama, and are full of love for a lying cheating adulterer like John Boy. Oh, by the way, don't forget, he is a maverick *wink*

Some of you are really difficult to understand. Your writing skills suck. Perhaps you may want to skip over to the Bonnie and Clyde articles to comment on her breasts. Or you can pretend you are "Joe The Plumber". Leave politics to the educated big boys and girls.

Huge tax cuts for the wealthy and massive deficits that require us to borrow money from China to pay Saudi Arabia is a complete failure. There's broad concensus on this among every leading economist. Bush said the tax cuts would produce higher tax revenue which would eliminate the deficit. That proved to be wrong. When the Republicans controlled the White House, Senate and House, they pushed through budgets that resulted in the largest growth in government in history. They are absolutely the "big government" party when you look at actions instead of words. They also have backdoored the largest tax increase in history. People seem to think that we won't need to pay off these deficits. Where will the money come from? Taxes. Where else? It's easy to make a bunch of empty promises. McCain is promising massive tax cuts AND a balanced budget!! Ridiculous from a person who voted for every Bush budget. 9-11, tech bubble? Whatever. We had the same result when Reagan did this. Massive budget deficits and a recession. Clinton produced jobs and surpluses. Bush gave the wealthy massive tax cuts, spent like there was no tommorow. Both caused a historic run up in stocks which also benefited the wealthy. Now it's time to pay for the excesses and the wealthy are crying about higher taxes. McCain and Palin give speaches saying Obama will raise your taxes. Who are they talking to? How many people in Pennsylvania that are in their audiences are making over $250,000? 5%. McCain's campaign is nothing but lies and they need to be taught a lesson for the future of this country. All Republicans should reject these ideas. What happened to the Republican Party that believed in fiscal conservatism and were against nation building? The American people reject the extremes of both parties. We need moderate policies not extreme, divisive policies that are getting us nowhere.

In response to Allthetime2471. I dispite of what you might think go beyond what the candidates say. I make less than 250,000 a yearr so I WILL benefit from the new taxes. If I do get taxed more I see it as an investment on my future and the US future. We have to start thinking as nation not as separate groups/entities as we had in the past. What is wrong with caring for all US citizens? That is the only way our nation will ever get stronger. We will build it from the ground up. Also I and almost 70% of americans will benefit ffrom the Health care insurance for all. And lastly we: ALL as Americans will benefit from a better standing in the world something we havent seen for the past 8 years. Obama repreents hope and I like that so much more than hopelessness. Thank you for asking.

I am a moderate liberal who supported Hillary. I have never voted Republican. However, Obama is a radical socialist. Our country became great because we have had a strong capitalist economy. Notice that socialism failed in Russia and China. Both of those countries are trying to become prosperous like our country is. The government cannot pay for every need of every person. It needs to bring jobs and companies back to the U.S. and let the market get back to supply and demand.
