Hillary Clinton compares herself to a fairy-tale character

Thomas Fitzgerald reports from Brownsburg, Ind.:

Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton said she feels like "Goldilocks" because her advocacy of a gas-tax holiday puts her between her Democratic opponent, Sen. Barack Obama, and Republican nominee-to-be John McCain.

"Sen. Obama doesn't want to do it, says it's a gimmick, while Sen. McCain doesn't want to pay for it," Clinton said. "I sometimes feel like the Goldilocks of this campaign: not too much, not too little, just right."

And she took a swipe at Obama, who has been dealing with perceptions he is an elitist in recent weeks, for refusing to do something to help ordinary Americans get some relief from gas prices.

She said she finds it "a little offensive" coming from "someone who doesn't have to worry" about such things. She did not call out Obama by name.

"We need a president who's a fighter again," Clinton said.

she is so out of touch she didn't even know how to pump her own gas and get her own coffee yesterday. Everything with her is a publicity stunt. Just look back in the past to see the 'real Hillary' and don't be fooled by these shamless campaign tactics.

Hillary and McCain are simply trying to buy votes -- literally. McCain's claim to find the money in wasteful government spending is not credible. People are trying to cut waste all the time and this won't cut any additional waste. We will, however, have to borrow more money from China to make it up. Hillary's plan to impose a "windfall profit" tax on the oil companies is an emotional tactic to look tough in face of big oil. However, we all know that they will soon pass this cost onto the consumer, so we'll pay for it. She's just borrowing money from our gas purchases later in the year (when oil companies pass on the csot) to pay a bribe to voters in the summer.
