Larry Eichel reports...

The Obama bus tour across Pennsylvania began the day in Johnstown. And now, at mid-afternoon, we're still in Johnstown.

The candidate started the day with a tour of Johnstown Wire Technologies, a plant that makes wire. It was a pretty standard tour, with Obama signing autographs for workers and posing for photographs.

Upon entering the factory, Obama was given a Slinky, that famous toy that goes down stairs all by itself. The factory makes the wire used in the toy. He fidgeted with it throughout the tour. He could not put it down. Of course, there really was no place for him to put it down.

He just finished a town hall meeting at the local high school, then is headed for a number of stops in Altoona, including a bowling alley and perhaps a sports bar. The glamorous life of a candidate and his entourage.

I am curious to learn the sorts of questions Obama may be fielding on these stops. Are folks interested in the economy, healthcare and other domestic legislation, and/or the Iraqi War. Many Pennsylvanians may not be aware of Obama's rather militant statements about going after Al Queada in Pakistan and in support of the military - or of his evolving position on departing from Iraq. Any action on these issues?

Obama's statements on Pakistan are not much different than what Ronald Reagan did in Libya. Obama, like Reagan, was making a common sense exception in Pakistan to cover those actions that may underpin the vital national security interests of the United States.

Perhaps a bigger story than even the questions asked is that Bob Casey is actually traveling with Obama through to Harrisburg.

Slow Moving Polls: The American Research Group has a March 28 Poll showing no movement from the March 7th Poll. The most notable difference is that undecideds went up 2 points: http://americanresearchgroup.com/

There is a rumor floating in New York that Jeremiah Wright is going to host a Saturday Night Live show. It seems that the SNL producers think he's not ready for prime time.

There is a rumor floating in New York that Jeremiah Wright is going to host a Saturday Night Live show. It seems that the SNL producers think he's perfectly not ready for prime time. He's going to be inserted into the Hillary/Barack debate skit.

It seems that Obama should be given some tough questions on these trips across PA because so far his answers on issues have not set him apart from the average politico running for office and he's very good at evading. I'll stick with Hillary, at least she'll work for us.
