Pennsylvania Bio, a state-based trade organization representing the life sciences industry, gave out awards at its annual dinner the other night at the Philadelphia Convention Center.

Pennsylvania Bio, a state-based trade organization representing the life sciences industry, gave out awards at its annual dinner the other night at the Philadelphia Convention Center.

PA Bio President Christopher Molineaux and Gov. Corbett spoke to the crowd of about 1,000.

The 2013 award winners are:

Hubert J.P. Schoemaker Leadership Award

Paul L. Kornblith, M.D., Medical Advisor, Pittsburgh Life Science Greenhouse, Chairman, Celsense, Inc. and Carmell Therapeutics, Adjunct Professor, University of Pittsburgh, School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences

 Frank Baldino Jr. Bioscience CEO of the Year Award

Maxine Gowen, Ph.D., Founding President and CEO, Trevena

Scientific Achievement Award

Bruce Freeman, Ph.D., University of Pittsburgh

Deal of the Year Award

Nuron Acquisition of Meningitec from Pfizer

Federal Public Official of the Year Award

U.S. Congressman Jim Gerlach, (PA-06) House of Representatives

State Public Official of the Year Award
