According to a recent poll conducted by the Brooke animal charity, one in ten women love their pet more dearly than they do their romantic partner.

Out of the 2,000 women that were surveyed, 39% expressed that they sought love and affection from their pet in times where their significant other was not being attentive. This shouldn't come as a surprise to pet lovers – furry friends are the best companions, especially in times where comfort isn't readily available.

Also, pets can't speak so they won't pass judgment on you for wearing the same shirt two days in a row or yell at you for eating a pint of Ben & Jerry's ice cream at 1:30 in the morning. Pets have always just loved their owners for who they are.

Additionally the poll found that 81% of women considered their pets part if the family. And when it comes to breakups, 38% said there would be an ill-willed custody battle over a shared animal.
