Hero cat saves owner from house fire

A cat is being hailed as a hero after she alerted her owner of a house fire.

Craig Geeves, 49, of Australia, said his cat Sally got on his head and meowed loudly, waking him from a deep sleep.

"She was standing on my head screaming, the loudest scream I've ever heard from a cat screaming at me and then I smelt the smoke and jumped out of my bed," Geeves told the Australian Broadcasting Company.

"She saved my life," Geeves said. Fire crews on the scene said Geeves, whose home was completely destroyed by the blaze, is lucky to be alive.
