In an effort to help war veterans suffering with PTSD, the Loews Hotel will be hosting a benefit to raise awareness for K9s for Warriors – a program that pairs rescued service dogs with troops suffering from the disorder – as a part of the Bark Business Tour.

On Saturday, Nov. 16 at 10 a.m., you can help raise enough money to pair 15 returning U.S. vets with a service dog of their very own. A patriotic breakfast will be held in which attendees are encouraged to donate anywhere between $10 and $100 to help read BBT’s goal of $200,000 – a target they hope to achieve during their 10-city tour. Celebrities like Ellen DeGeneres ad Jane Lynch have already spoken up for and given to the cause. “K9S for warriors is doing some wonderful work,” says Lynch, “and I’m more than happy to lend my support. My dog makes me a better person. She takes care of me as much as I take care of her

Wendy Diamond, founder of and author of How to Train Your Boss to Rollover, decided to embark on this journey when she learned about the alarming suicide rate of veterans with PTSD. “Veterans have fought selflessly for our freedom – it’s our time to fight for them.”

94% of every dollar donated to K9s For Warriors goes directly to the veterans & service dogs. Only 6% is used on fundraising and overhead.
