The most useful school subjects

Students are heading back to class -- but which subjects should they study extra hard this year?

A new Gallup survey asked Americans which school subject has been most valuable to them in their lives. Here are the respondents' top choices:

1. Math (34 percent)
2. English/literature/reading (21 percent)
3. Science/physics/biology (12 percent)
4. History (8 percent)
5. Business/finance/accounting (4 percent)

Subjects getting 2 or 3 percent of the responses include social studies, psychology, economics and art/theater/music.
