1. CHOP doctor murder: Jurors are slated to begin hearing testimony in the murder trial for Jason Smith, accused of strangling Children's Hospital of Philadelphia physician Melissa Ketunuti at her Graduate Hospital home in January 2013.

2. Philadelphia award: Comcast cofounder Ralph Roberts and his wife, Suzanne Roberts, as well as songwriter-producer Kenny Gamble will receive the Philadelphia Award tonight, one of the city's highest civic honors.

3. Comcast customer service: Comcast is hiring 5,500 additional customer-service workers as part of an effort to improve its often-bashed service.

4. Narcotics officers' trial: Closing arguments are underway in the trial of six former Philadelphia police narcotics officers.

5. N.J. pensions: New Jersey's highest court is scheduled to hear arguments this morning about Gov. Chris Christie's changes to state pension funding.
