Hope you had a good weekend. Get the week started with your daily look at five stories we're following:

1. Looking back at Sandy: Superstorm Sandy hit the region a year ago this week, and we're looking back at the damage and devastation the storm caused. Today, local emergency-management officials share what they learned from the storm (the key takeaway: preparation is king). More Sandy anniversary coverage is here.

2. Mob trial: Jury selection begins today at Camden's federal courthouse for the trial of Nicodemo Scarfo (son of the infamous mob boss "Little Nicky" Scarfo) and associate Salvatore Pelullo. Four lawyers and a former business executive are also on trial, charged with mail fraud, wire fraud and other offenses, for the alleged business-looting operation. It's expected to take two to three weeks to pick a jury; the trial is likely to last six months.

3. Vigil after scout's death: Christopher Alvelo, a 17-year-old aspiring Eagle Scout from Northeast Philadelphia, was killed in a weekend car crash. The teen's stepfather and three other fellow scouts, all age 15, were injured in the accident. A vigil for him is planned for this evening at his school, New Foundations Charter School.

4. Inquirer court hearing: A hearing is set for today in a lawsuit over the over the firing of former Philadelphia Inquirer editor Bill Marimow. The feuding owners of Interstate General Media (the parent company of the Inquirer, Daily News and Philly.com) have filed several lawsuits against each other in the aftermath of the firing; today's hearing is expected to focus on which court has jurisdiction in the dispute.

5. Medical marijuana: South Jersey's first medical marijuana dispensary -- the second in the state -- is scheduled to open today in Egg Harbor Township.
