1. Feds to review police shootings: Philadelphia police Commissioner Charles Ramsey has asked the U.S. Department of Justice to review the use of deadly force by Philly cops. The request comes a Philly.com report that found the number of police shootings skyrocketed in 2012.

2. Bear sightings in South Jersey: Residents have reported several sightings of a 5-foot, 400-pound black bear over the past several days in Burlington County. The bear's been spotted swimming and near a mall, but the Department of Environmental says he's most likely looking for a mate.

3. Gosnell pleas, sentencings: Kermit Gosnell, the West Philadelphia abortion doctor convicted of murdering three babies who were born alive during illegal, late-term abortions, will plead guilty next week to federal narcotics charges next week. Gosnell's sister-in-law, Elizabeth Hampton, was sentenced Tuesday for lying to a grand jury about a patient's death. Several other co-defendants are scheduled to be sentenced today.

4. Paralegal's bathtub death: Many details remain unknown about the death of Julia Law, a 26-year-old paralegal who was dating her boss, high-profile defense attorney A. Charles Peruto Jr. An autopsy has been completed, but a medical examiner is still reviewing toxicology results. The Daily News reports that there was no sign of a struggle or evidence of foul play.

5. Ex-cop killed in shootout: A former police officer in Luzerne County was shot and killed by federal agents in Upper Darby after a manhunt. Anthony Galla had been accused of shooting his ex-girlfriend's lover.
