Kaboni Savage sentencing: Penalty hearings begin today for the drug kingpin, convicted of 12 murders last week, including ordering the 2004 firebombing at a North Philadelphia home that killed four children and two adults. Jurors will decide whether Savage, 38, should be sentenced to death or life without the possibility of parole.
3. Election day: It's primary election day in Pennsylvania. Voters will choose party candidates for judgeships and some local offices. The key contest in Philly is the race for city controller, in which incumbent Alan Butkovitz faces two challengers. Officials are predicting turnout of less than 10 percent.
