Here's your look at five stories to know about today and over the weekend:

1. Broad Street Run: This year's Blue Cross Broad Street Run takes place Sunday, when about 40,000 runners will make their way down Broad Street from North Philadelphia to the Navy Yard.

2. Convention Center strike: Union carpenters are striking in protest of planned work-rule changes. Major effects of the work stoppage could be felt Saturday, when a neurology convention ends and exhibits and booths need to be taken down.

3. Rittenhouse Row Festival: Around 50,000 people are likely to descend on the Rittenhouse Square area Saturday for the annual Rittenhouse Row Spring Festival's food, drinks and musc.

4. Central reunion: The Central High School class of January 1944 is holding its 70th annual reunion today. Fifty-nine members of the 173-student class are living, and the group has held its gathering every single year since graduation.

5. A.C. flea market: A new flea market opens this weekend in Atlantic City on the Atlantic City Race Course grounds. The market is expected to draw 600 to 800 vendors, and will run from May through December.
