Here's your daily look at five stories to know about:

1. Major gift for CHOP: The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia will announce its largest gift ever today. The $50 million donation from the Buerger family, which owns a financial-services firm in Fort Washington, will go toward a $425 million outpatient center. The Buerger Center for Advanced Pediatric Care, being built on the hospital's University City campus, is expected to open in 2015.

2. Clinton at NCC: Former President Bill Clinton will give the keynote address at a symposium about states' finances at the National Constitution Center today. The event is the last of four dialogues about federalism organized by the State Budget Crisis Task Force.

3. Work resumes at collapse site: Clean-up and demolition work is back under way at the site of this month's deadly building collapse at 22nd and Market streets. Mellon Certified Restoration was at the site Monday to remove debris from the site of a Salvation Army thrift store that was destroyed when the four-story building next to it, which was in the process of being demolished, collapsed. The owners of that building are in talks with Geppert Brothers Inc. to complete the demolition work.

4. SCOTUS decisions: The Supreme Court ruled Monday to send a University of Texas affirmative action case back to a lower court. The much-anticipated decision will likely have little immediate impact on campuses, officials at local colleges say. The ruling is just one of several high-profile cases the court is expected to release opinions for this week. Decisions have yet to come down in cases involving the federal Defense of Marriage Act, Proposition 8 (California's 2008 ballot initiative banning same-sex marriage in the state) and the Voting Rights Act.

5. Obama's climate plan: The president is slated to unveil his plan to fight climate change today. His proposal is expected to include steps to expand production of renewable energy.
