Here's a look at five stories we'll be following today:

1. Kane won't defend gay marriage ban: Pennsylvania Attorney General Kathleen Kane is expected to announce today that she won't defend the state's ban on same-sex marriage. The American Civil Liberties Union filed a lawsuit this week challenging the state's ban. 2. Daulton has brain cancer: Former Phillies catcher Darren Daulton has been diagnosed with an aggressive form of brain cancer known as glioblastoma.

3. Rutgers tuition: The Rutgers University Board of Governors will consider tuition prices for the upcoming school year today. Some students are planning to protest for the school to freeze tuition. Earlier this week, officials announced that tuition would go up by 3 percent at Pennsylvania's 14 state universities.

4. Zimmerman trial closings: Closing arguments are slated to begin today at the trial for George Zimmerman, the neighborhood watch volunteer charged with second-degree murder in the fatal shooting of Trayvon Martin. Jurors could begin deliberating as early as Friday.

5. Post-Sandy demolitions: About 3,000 homes across New Jersey are expected to be demolished due to damage sustained during Superstorm Sandy.
