Here's your daily look at five stories to know about:

1. New Penn State President: Pennsylvania State University's board of trustees is slated to vote today on the selection of Eric Barron as the college's next president. Barron, a noted climate scientist, is the president of Florida State University and worked at Penn State from 1986 to 2006, eventually becoming the dean of the school's College of Earth and Mineral Sciences.

2. Plan for Philly schools: Philadelphia School District Superintendent William Hite is set to issue his blueprint for the district's future today. 

3. More snow: Winter-weary Philadelphians need to gear up for yet another round of snow, expected overnight tonight into Tuesday morning.

4. Meningitis vaccine: Princeton University will begin offering the second dose of a meningitis vaccine today. The strain B vaccine -- not yet approved for widespread use in the United States -- will be available to students and staff who received the first dose last year amid an outbreak of the disease on campus.
