Here's your look at five stories to know about before the weekend:

1. Made in America: The Made in America festival is back on the Benjamin Franklin Parkway this weekend. Here's the complete schedule and a guide to essential information.

2. Schuylkill slayings: New details are emerging about the abduction of three men who were thrown into the Schuylkill River, killing two of them. Authorities on Thursday searched two homes in Southwest Philadelphia.

3. Casino closings: The Showboat Casino Hotel in Atlantic City is set to shut down this weekend. Revel says Sunday will be its last day of normal operations before shutting down next week.

4. Labor Day events: Made in America may be the biggest event of the weekend, but it's not the only thing to do. Labor Day weekend activities abound in the Philadelphia area, including events in Atlantic City, for the family and at local museums.

5. Medicaid expansion: Federal officials have approved Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Corbett's alternative Medicaid expansion proposal. The Healthy PA program is slated to roll out in January.
