We're back from the weekend with our daily look at five stories we'll be following.

1. Gosnell trial: Closing arguments are expected today in the murder trial for a West Philadelphia abortion doctor. Testimony finished last week when Dr. Kermit Gosnell didn't call anyone in his defense. Over the weekend, Philadelphia Archbishop Charles Chaput criticized the lack of national media coverage of the trial in his weekly column.

2. Boston investigation: Lawmakers say the FBI is probing "persons of interest" in the April 15 blasts at the Boston Marathon finish line that killed three people and wounded more than 260. Investigators are looking into potential "trainers" for the brothers accused in the bombings in both the United States and Russia.

3. Philly schools want $60M: Leaders of the Philadelphia School District are expected to ask the City Council for $60 million today. The request could lead to intense negotiations about funding for the district. The district's superintendent says the money (plus other funds from the state and teachers' union concessions) is necessary to close a $300 million budget defecit.

4. 'Rocky' on Broadway: The Oscar-winning film is becoming a Broadway musical. Producers expect the show to be running by February.

5. Vodka-fueled gun lesson turns deadly: A Delaware County woman fatally shot her husband over the weekend, police say. Authorities said 43-year-old William Wanko had been showing his wife, 42-year-old Michele, how to use a gun after the pair had been drinking lemonade and vodka for six hours. Michele Wanko misfired a wepon, hitting her husband, police say. She was charged with involuntary manslaughter and aggravated assault, and a preliminary hearing is scheduled for later this week.
