5 stories to follow: April 24

Here's your daily look at five stories to know about:

1. MLK football documentary: A documentary about the Martin Luther King High football team will be shown at the Philadelphia school tonight and nationally on ESPN2 on Saturday. "We Could Be King" premiered Wednesday at the Tribeca Film Festival, and students made the trip to New York for the event.

2. Bike-sharing: City officials are planning to announce today that a bike-sharing program will launch in Philadelphia next spring. The city had earlier hoped to have the system up and running by this fall.

3. Tiananmen at 25: A major symposium, called "Tiananmen at 25" will take place today at St. Joseph's University, shortly before the 25th anniversary of the 1989 protests.

4. New Gallery retailer: Century 21, a discount-apparel retailer, will be coming to the Gallery at Market East. A brief mention of the news appeared in Pennsylvania Real Estate Investment Trust's quarterly earnings report, and more details are expected to be known after a conference call today.

5. SRC and charters: A few days after a judge ruled that the Philadelphia School Reform Commission didn't have the power to cap charter-school enrollments, the commission is scheduled to vote on a new policy for charters based on its power to suspend parts of the state law covering charter schools.
