Temple's Brooks to play in Germany

Temple’s Ryan Brooks, who helped the Owls reach last season’s NCAA Tournament, has signed with the LTI Giessen 46ers, a pro team in Germany,

The 6-4 Brooks, who came to Temple via Lower Merion High, averaged 14.3 points, 4.2 rebounds and 2.3 assists as a senior, all career highs.

He was a member of the Sixers’ team in the Orlando Summer League. He averaged 4.8 points, 1.5 rebounds and 1.5 assists in 20 minutes per game. His best game was in the finale against Utah, when he scored 12 points and had three assists.

Brooks was a first team All-State slection as a high school senior, help;ing Lower Merion to the 2006 PIAA Class AAAA championship.

The news of Brooks signing comes on the heels of Saturday’s report that Villanova’s Scottie Reynolds has signed a one-year contract that includes some financial guarantees with Prima Veroli, a second-division pro team in Italy.
