LaSalle has received a commitment from Rutgers transfer Earl Pettis, a source told the Daily News.

Pettis, a 6-5 guard, started 20 games for the Scarlet Knights and averaged 4.6 points and 2.5 rebounds. He averaged 3.2 points and 2.0 rebounds, mostly off the bench, as a freshman.

Pettis, from Neumann-Goretti, was looking to return home and chose LaSalle over Temple and Rider.

Look for more in tomorrow's Daily News.

Nova 69 Penn 47; Nova 59 St Joes 56; Nova 70 La Salle 59 and Nova 62 Temple 45. Nuff said. And a top 5 recruiting class is coming in. So pipe down with the LaSalle as tops in the Big 5, until you do something. Go Cats.

Perfection? That quote shows you just how clueless a St Joes graduate is. Gotta love that quality Jesuit education. Go Augies.

Headesigns - St. Joe's lost 2 games that year. Ask the Patriots how they feel about being perfect in 2007? Means nothing without actually being perfect. Loser.

If basketball coaches dress up and gave themselves nicknames, Phil Martelli would be MISTER PERFECT, and would wear a cape that had a giant P on it. I am 30 years old and I paint the back of my head for Saint Joseph's (PA) games and sit in the student section.

Headesigns - and La Salle still has more national championships than St. Joe's. Perfection is meaningless without the title - I must have missed the game against Oklahoma St that year. La Salle has beaten St. Joe's two years running - including dominating them this year - stop living on one good year that now seems like an eternity ago.

wcburrs87, get a freaking life!! Watching high school kids in the shower?? Do something more productive, like make photoshop pictures of Villanova or something. That is what I do. Whenever Saint Joseph's (PA) loses to Villanova, I do some serious damage to my photoshop. I will draw breasts on Scottie Reynolds, or a booger hanging from Corey Fisher's nose, or put Dante Cunningham in crutches. Cool stuff like that. Then I will post them in various newsgroups so that everybody can laugh with me. You La Salle fans should start doing the same.

When is the last time La Salle played a NCAA Tournament game? Saint Joseph's (PA) is the second best team in Philadelphia. One word for all you La Salle chumps: PERFECTION!!

You da man pahoops! Jay Wright gets away with BLATANT NCAA violations, but as soon as Karon tries to make a little money for himself, boom, he gets arrested. What gives?!?

Lay off burrs, he is the man. He knows more about these kids than any of you! I wouldn't be surprised to see Pettis end up like a hybrid version of Reggie Redding - Rodney Green - Michael Jordan. The has IT!
