'Nova to retire Foye's jersey
Villanova will retire the No. 2 jersey of Randy Foye on Saturday morning during ESPN's "College GameDay" broadcast. He will become the 18th Villanova men's player to have his jersey retired.
Foye, who plays for the Los Angeles Clippers, was a consensus All-America and Big East Player of the Year as a senior in 2005-06.
"I'm honored to be joining the elite company of Villanova basketball players with their jersey retired," Foye said in a statement released Monday.
Foye scored 1,966 points over his four seasons.
"Randy's impact on this era of Villanova basketball entitles him to be listed among the all-time greats at Villanova," Wildcats coach Jay Wright said in a statement. "I know how much Randy reveres the tradition of Villanova basketball and how much it means to him to have his jersey hang in the rafters."
Foye also will be honored at halftime of Saturday night's game against Pitt at the Pavilion.

Temple junior forward Scootie Randall has been named Big 5 Player of the Week. Randall averaged 20.5 points, 5 rebounds and 2 assists in a 2-0 week for the Owls.
Randall scored a game-high 27 points against Rhode Island, making his first eight shots of the game. For the week, he shot 65.2 percent from the floor, 66.7 percent from three-point range and 100 percent from the foul line.
On the men's honor roll:
* La Salle junior guard Earl Pettis, who averaged 15.5 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 2 assists in two games. Pettis scored a career-high 24 points agaings Dayton.
* Saint Joseph's freshman guard Langston Galloway, who averaged 18 points and was 7-for-11 from three-point range in a 1-1 week. He scored a career-high 25 points in the team's first conference win of the year over UMass. He shot 8-for-12 from the field and was 6-for-6 from three-point range.
* Villanova senior guard Corey Fisher, who averaged 16.5 points and 5.5 assists in victories over Marquette and West Virginia.
* Penn junior guard Zack Rosen, who scored 21 points and tied a school record with 13 assisst in the Quakers' 83-82, double-overtime loss to Harvard.
Penn freshman guard Alyssa Baron and Temple junior guard Shea Peddy have been selected Big 5 Women's Co-Players of the Week.
Baron averaged 28.5 points, 6.5 rebounds, 5.5 assists and 2.5 steals in two Ivy Leaue road games.
Peddy shot 8-of-10 from the field including 2-of-2 behind the arc to finish with 19 points in an 82-48 win vs. Saint Louis and had a season-high 26 points in a win at Duquesne.
On the women's honor roll:
* La Salle senior forward Ashley Gale, who averaged 21 points and 3 assists in a 1-1 week. She became the 23rd La Salle player to reach 1,000 points for a career.
* Villanova sophomore forward Laura Sweeney, who averaged 13.5 points and 6.5 rebounds in two games. She shot 50% from the floor, 78% from the foul line, and totaled 7 steals.
