Langel leaves Temple for Colgate

Temple assistant coach Matt Langel has been hired as the new head coach at Colgate University.

Langel succeeds Emmett Davis, who was released from his contract in mid-March after finishing the season 7-23 overall and 4-10 in the Patriot League.

Langel spents five season with Temple, joining head coach Fran Dunphy when Dunphy moved over from Penn. Langel had been on Dunphy's staff for 2 years at Penn. He was a part of two Ivy League titles as an assistant at Penn and two as a player.

“I’m thrilled for Matt. Colgate gets a person with great character who is very wise and can be a mentor to all of his student athletes,” Dunphy said.
